Hugo Ribeiro / Rui Mota duo wins the 2nd edition of the “Albufeira Beach Volleyball Master”

The duo Hugo Ribeiro and Rui Mota won the 2nd edition of the Albufeira Beach Volleyball Master by AMB, held between May 31st and June 2nd, at Praia dos Pescadores. The competition, which featured eight pairs and attracted hundreds of enthusiasts to the sand.

For three days, the public followed the games closely and interacted with the athletes . The winning duo, one of the most successful at national level, defeated Alexandre Afonso/Paulo Pedrosa 2-0 in the final. Olympic athlete Miguel Maia, who started the competition with João Brenha, finished in third place, alongside Tiago Silva, who replaced Brenha after an injury in the first game.

At the awards ceremony, the Mayor of Albufeira, José Carlos Rolo, and the Vice-Mayor, Cristiano Cabrita, expressed their satisfaction at seeing the enthusiasm of the teams and the public. “We have the best conditions for the practice of Beach Volleyball, which can be practiced throughout the year and now we have this competition, now in the second consecutive year, which fills a gap that we had in the vast list of annual championships and tournaments of the most diverse sports”, stated José Carlos Rolo, recalling that “we are just a few months away from becoming the European City of Sport and this is an added value for a year that will, we hope, be remarkable in the
